ENO Tree Planting Day

ENO Tree Planting Day 2011
Environment Online - ENO is a global virtual school and network for sustainable development. It has been running since 2000 and reached thousands of schools in 150 countries. The first ENO Tree Planting Day took place seven years ago in 2004.So far we have planted over 5 million trees and we aim to plant 100 million trees by the end of 2017.
ENO Tree Planting Day is an open event for schools and groups interested in environment and peace. It is arranged twice in a year, in May and in September. We plant trees and get to know about species on the planting sites. Tree planting is one of the most popular activities in the ENO Programme. Join us!
We aim to create the worlds' biggest event for schools.  Our target is to plant 20 million trees by the end of 2012.
What have we done since September 2011:

 SHARKO AND FRANK

INTRODUCTION
As ENO (Ecological virtual school with its seat in Finland) members, we accepted their mascot, Frank the Frog, and we also added a new one, Sharko the Puppy. We wrote a song about everything that Frank and Sharko did during the last three years:

SHARKO AND FRANK

Two years ago
Little Sharko was saving the world,
Whereas last year
He planted trees and coloured flowers, dear!

This year
Little Sharko
Got along with the
Clever Frank.

They are thinking hard
These clever minds:
What else they should do
With this world filled with many kinds.

Hardwork is not
Their only way out,
So they have to start
To cry out loud!

Our two clever guys
Made a quick decision:
To stop pollution
Is their only vision!

We joined them last day
And we shouted out loud
That our planet dear
Must be saved, together with its clouds!

Sharko and Frank
Get along so well
And from every single liter
They create a new spell.

These great friends
Will never split apart,
And from any single garbage
They make new wishes in the shape of their heart.

They are making Christmas cards
For this holiday to celebrate
So that every child in the world
Could put his heart for a wish to create.

I am a child like you!“

Spring

Sitting on the long grass, filled with the most beautiful flowers, with reddish colour, there we were, holding each other close. He was running his fingers slowly through my hair, kissing me gently on the forehead. We were watching the sunset. The sky slowly changed the colour, it went from bright blue, to orange, than red. We were having a romantic picnic on a Saturday evening.
  • Do you know how much you mean to me? – he slowly whispered in my ear.
  • Am I your whole world? – I asked
  • The world means nothing compared to you. You are more than my world. You are my heart, my other half, and I cannot imagine my life without you. – he replied and than kissed me.
I slowly leaned my head on his shoulder, while shedding couple of tears.
  • Why are you crying? Did I do something wrong? –he asked.
  • It’s not you. It’s not me either. It’s everything else that surrounds us.
  • Is it the sunset? I thought you loved them. – he said
  • No, no, I do love them. I just cannot understand why life has to put an end to every romance that there is on the surface.
  • What do you mean? It hasn’t put an end to us.
  • Oh, but it has. I’m moving away.
  • You are moving away? But I don’t understand, why are you moving away? – he asked.
I tried to respond, but I couldn’t. I was crying while responding to his answer. He did not understand me at all. He pulled me even closer towards him, holding me tight, not wanting to let me go. He was trying to be strong, trying to “take it like a real man”, but he was devastated. It felt like he wanted to break down, and start crying.
- It’ll be better. I promise. – he whispered.
The sun was down, and silence surrounded us. I put my head on his chest, while holding his hand. I was listening to his heartbeat. It was just like in the movies. We spend the night there.
When we woke up he took me home, kissed me and left. When I walked through the door, my mom was sitting on the porch with my grandmother. They were both knitting. My father was plucking the apples from the trees, which have just mellowed. My sister was gathering flowers in different colours. She was making a bouquet.
  • Where have you been darling? – my mother asked.
  • I was with Matt, explaining to him the decision you made. – I replied, and head to the backyard.
When I got there I went far in the mellowed forest, passing the stream, and heading towards the big tree at the end of the lane. The little birdies, which have just come back from the South, were singing a beautiful melody. They were making a nest on the brunch of the pine. The pine smelled wonderful, fresh. Around the pine, the flowers were mellowing. Green surrounded me. I was enjoying the beautiful spring in my hometown. I laid on the grass, next to the pine, and watched how the birds were making their nest. The noise of their song and the stream, were helping me relax. I closed my eyes and fell asleep. I heard rustling, and I woke up. Right next to me was a cute white rabbit. It had big blue eyes and a carrot in one hand. It came near me. It wasn’t afraid of me like most of the rabbits. I got up, and I headed towards our house. When I got to the stream, I saw my little sister, picking up flowers. She saw me and gave them to me.
  • These are for you. They are white. I tried to find yellow but it seems like they mellow at the end of spring. I will make you a bouquet with yellow and blue flowers when they mellow, I promise.
  • Well, thank you Liz. They are wonderful. – I said, and kissed her on the cheek.
  • Do you know what I’ll miss the most about our hometown? – she asked
  • No, I don’t. Tell me.
  • I’ll miss the spring here. I’ll miss the little birdies that sing here in the forest everyday, the bunnies that eat mom’s flowers, I’ll miss the stream, and the smell of the old pine, the taste of the fresh green plums on the trees, as well as the red apples that dad grows. – she stopped for a minute. She was shedding tears. I whipped them away with my hand.
  • Everything will be alright, I promise. It will be beautiful in the city as well.
  • No it will not. We won’t be able to smell the pines anymore, the air will be polluted. There are no blue flowers there, no flowers at all. I don’t want to leave the animals here. If mom doesn’t water the flowers, the bunnies will have nothing to eat. You said yourself, life isn’t about how much you get, it is about how much you give.
I pulled her close and hugged her tight. We went back in the house. Our parents have already packed everything. All of our things were putted into boxes, and soon the truck came. Our dad put the boxes in it. Before we “hit” the road, I said goodbye to all my friends and Matt. I was devastated, but I tried not to cry and be though, because my dad always used to say that big girls don’t cry. We got in the car and slowly drove away. While sitting in the car I thought about spring and how it reflects on peoples lives. Though the year begins in winter, spring is considered a new year, when you see the grass growing, the flowers blossoming. When we see the birds making nests, we begin to think that the spring is here, and it’s a new beginning, a way to renew yourself from the cold weather. Like a river it’ll wash away the sorrow and bring happiness. It is she, the season of green, that brings us all the changes and crushes our plans, in order to create better ones. Like a morning it might be rainy, foggy and dark, but we always know that in the end of every storm there is peace and harmony, because the sun will rise no matter how many clouds will try to block it rays. It is one of the wonders of this world how spring can change your life into anything you can imagine and in anyway you can imagine, but it can’t make anything last forever, because spring can’t last forever. Whenever spring comes it brings freshness into our lives, it gives us hope and it encourages us to do things we never did before.

EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIP PROJECT ROMANIA - MACEDONIA "DOESN`T TOLERATE IN TOLERANCE"

The Tolerance Stories

Tolerance
Tolerance is the most valuable thing and not everyone has it. Tolerant people are often soft and calm. Tolerance doesn’t mean to let others walk over you, but of course it doesn’t mean to build  walls between you and the others. A person needs to listen and understand the people and take care of them.
Every parent takes care of his child,  not to catch a cold, to eat, to study and bunch of other things. Every kid needs to tolerate his parents although he thinks that their parents don’t need to worry, but everyone knows that their parents want all the best for their kids.
You can tolerate your friends too who often make mistakes unconsciously. They go out without you, they are always talk about the cute boy from school, they don’t know the subject and  ask for help or stuffs like that. But we need to tolerate them, we can’t yell at them because they are talking to us, we are their best friends and we need to listen what they have to say.
If some worker comes late at the office and he thinks that he’s gonna be tolerated just because he has good working relationship with his boss or because he is a good worker he can still get fired..
Tolerance is not always mutual . There are people who wants to be tolerated, but they are not tolerant.
There are certain limits that the person needs to set. For example if some friend starts using drugs or do things which are wrong we can try to help him but we can’t stand by him if his action are hurting us.
There are cases when it comes to domestic violence, the man is harassing his wife, she tolerates him because he is her husband, father of her children. That kind of tolerance needs to stop!
Anyway the tolerance is generous feature which is often abused.
We all need to be aware for the things we do and how it will affect on others.
We are not the same, but we are all EQUAL!

TOLERANCE

Tolerance is a word which should fills the world for better living. That word is one of the human high moral values which everyone should tends to.

We often ask ourselves what  it actually means? What kind of interpersonal relations, is that a kind of love..?Sometimes the people are convinced that tolerance is a word which means how they are related to eachother..However, in one way it is something like unspoken thought. Tolerance can't exsist only between two or more humans, it can be internal, too.It contains how that human behave with its feelings, how it tolerances everything what happens around it, including it.For reaching a goal, the tolerance is written on the 'must do' list, (means =t.e.) to respect ourselves. It's obvious that it's harder to be careful and to understand other's feelings, than being aggresive, selfish and not to be interesting how others feel.We are toleranted when we can deal with something.Sometimes we wonder why that word excist at all..For the people to be capable to understand themselves with words, not with aggresion, violence..

And when people realize that they are not obligaded to accept nor to appreciate that it is contrary to their values, but show no aggression, the percentage of tolerance increases dramatically.

  Tolerance
It is hard to be a tolerant person. It is hard to write about a subject that is not exactly defined. People often make mistakes when they have to explain tolerance. Maybe it is because they are not quite familiar with what Tolerance actually represents. Is it a feeling that we get in a certain situation, or maybe it is one of our traits that we develop since our earliest age?
Personally, I see tolerance as one of those characteristics that enriches  human soul, and turns us into noble persons that enjoy a great respect in the eyes of others. Tolerance is essential for our coexistence, because it teach us through our creditable actions, that we must be patient for things that happen, but are not always as we want them to be. – Yes, tolerance can be linked with patience, because that is the first step towards tolerance. Those praise- worthy actions can be seen everywhere and in any time, and often are not such a big deals, so therefore, we may not notice them, but we still feel proud and noble afterwards. Tolerant people may not get as affected by the haughtiness of others, as impatient people usually do. They find a piece of understanding deeply in them, and act according to it.  Tolerance is not shown only to human beings, but to everything else in life.
If each and every one of us tries a little bit harder to first learn how to be patient and then tolerant, I strongly believe that the communication among us will improve a lot, and a greater communication leads to a better world for all of us.
